- When Mark Stunkard was a child, he traveled with his mother on her Avon route. He remembers visiting many homes in which the woman invested all of her energy in caring for others—children, grandchildren, husbands, parents, friends, community members. . . He watched his mom’s gentle way of helping these women understand the importance of making time to care for themselves, too. And he noticed that, sometimes, just the right shade of lipstick did more than frame an already-beautiful smile. It actually gave the customer her own little reason to smile more often.
